Short description

This course aims to highlight the implementation of requirements into processes and actual operations. With regards to global environment that companies are facing nowadays, the course will cover a broad range of topics going from forecasting to quality control. Case analysis will be presented in order to make the bridge between theory and practice.

Objectives

At the end on the course, attendees are expected to:

-Understand the impact of a global business environment
-Be aware of the interrelation with other business functions
-Be able to explain why forecasting is important
-Be able to plan material requirements
-Understand the concept of aggregate planning
-Know the importance of quality control
-Be comfortable with the information technology tools needed for an integrated supply chain

Target Attendees / Participants

This module prepares current master of engineering students who will be involved in the field of reliability, safety, risk and maintenance and experts (maintenance leaders, safety engineers, etc.).

The course will cover the following topics:

-Introduction to operations and supply management
-Material requirement planning
-Integrated supply chain
-Forecasting and scheduling
-Place of production and operation management in the overall process
-Inventory management
-Value chain

Teaching Methods

This course will be taught through a mix of cases, discussions, lectures, individual assignments, and group projects.
