Short description

The course will provide necessary tools and instruments for executives to understand labor-related issues. The managers will need to have knowledge about current labor force, its obligation and rights. The knowledge will be useful in negotiation and managing process.

Objectives

The participants:

- can recognize and handle Labor Law-related problems,

- understand how Labor Law is integrated into the overall legal system,

- know the central practice-related issues of Labor Law,

- acquire skills for dealing with lawyers and attorneys in the Professional World and

- deepen their understanding of the systematics of Labor Law on the basis of exemplary cases and project work.

Application of Labor Law

The Labor Law in the legal system

Sources of law

Collective Labor Law:

- Trade unions right

- Collective agreement

- Operating Agreement

- Right to industrial action

- Industrial Constitution Law

- Labor and Personnel representation Law

Individual Labor Law:

- Amendments to the employment contract

- Deficiencies in the employment contract

- Rights and obligations coming from the employment contract

- Termination of Employment

- Change of the company’s owner

Teaching Methods

Interactive lectures which encompass introductory presentation by the lecturer and students' participation.

The students are required to prepare for the lectures and participate in the discussion; certain students may prepare 15-minute oral presentations on a given topic.
